Step on K
"Step on K" stabilisce una connessione fra i processi di creazione di un'opera pittorica e quelli di un'opera musicale.
Step on K (0), un'opera del 1981, è stata la ideazione precorritrice. È la trascrizione di una fuga a tre voci di Bach che utilizza simboli grafici avvolti su una spirale. Sono quattro dipinti e chi sapesse interpretarli potrebbe non solo guardali, ma anche usarli per suonare come fossero uno spartito.
Step on K (1) del 2004 è un'opera buffa sul tema della Creazione Artistica e parimenti di quella Divina. Un testo semi serio recitato su una base sonora fa da sfondo all'azione dei performer che dipingono ginocchioni usando siringhe. Ogni performer è un pittore che dipinge come fosse lo strumentista di un'orchestra. Segue una partitura ed è sincronizzato con gli altri pittori per mezzo di particolari eventi presenti nello sfondo sonoro che "dicono" al perfomer quando iniziare o terminare un'attività pittorica. E' previsto che la performance sia eseguita da 49 esecutori che producono un dipinto globalmente costituito da altrettanti moduli. L'immagine sottostante mostra il risultato.

Step on K
“Step on K” establishes a connection between the processes of creating a painting and those of creating a musical piece.
Step on K (0), a work from 1981, was the forerunner ideation. A transcript of a three-voice fugue by J. S. Bach, it utilizes graphic symbols wound on a spiral. The artwork is composed by four paintings. Someone able to translate it could not only enjoy the artistic aspect of the pieces, but also use them as a score to play the music.
Step on K (1), from 2004, is an opera buffa on the subject of Artistic Creation, as well as on Divine Creation. A semi-serious text played on a music track serves as background to the performers' action. Performers paint on their knees using syringes, each of them paints as part of an orchestra following a score and is synchronized with the other artists through key sounds that "say" to the performers when to start or end a specific task of painting.
